Success is a Longshot

From The Youth Cartel, YouTube you can use. Check them out.

Topic:
Success

Bible:

Discussion starter:
The best part of this video, besides that the ridiculous shot went in, is that the player didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. He just went about playing the game as if he’d made a layup instead of a falling-out-of-bounds-underhanded-toss-that-swished he’d likely never attempted before. Imagine what would have happened if Lebron James had made the same shot?

Our culture is obsessed with success. And we are quick to claim ownership of any success that comes our way. But a word study of the word “success” in the Bible will reveal that God most often either gives success to someone or He chooses to make someone successful. Since we don’t make success we shouldn’t claim ownership for success that comes our way.

3 Questions:
1.            How many times would you have to attempt that shot before it went in?
2.            Would you rather see this live and miss the replay or seeing it on YouTube so you can watch it over and over again?
3.            Have you ever taken ownership of something that went right even though it was a complete accident?
Chew on this:
If God is the author of success, why do we have to work so hard to succeed?
